In this film, there are many scenes showing children. Instead this film never shows us about following the explosion of the bomb, it makes us feel familiar to people, especially one family, in Nagasaki to maximize our sorrow, pitiful feeling and potential guilty at the final scene. We can know all life in Nagasaki must be destroyed regardless of ages, love, and happiness with only the fact that atomic bomb exploded in Nagasaki. Most of people tend to empathize more about misfortune of children, thus to intensify sympathy and empathy of audiences, many images of children who might be able to have bright future might be needed.
